What we learned designing our conversational interface

We announced Saent’s first conversational user interface in a blog post in January 2016. Now almost a full year later, we’ve gone through several iterations on that initial design and learned a lot along the way.

In a guest post on the InVision blog, I talk about what we did right and what we did wrong, and where we’re headed in 2017.

At Saent, we also added a conversational interface to our desktop application this year. We didn’t do it to follow the latest trend or garner press mentions. We pursued our conversational UI because we believe it’s the best way to fulfill our product’s purpose: help our users focus and live more balanced lives.

I definitely think the conversational interface is a great add, due to the fact that it is an awesome way to create personality with the app and it makes the users more engaged. I like in the article how you discussed how the conversational UI is like a friend that will help you to be more productive so that you can have more focus. Keep up the great work.

Thanks, Caleb! Always great to hear that we’re on the right track. We have lots more to do and lots more to learn, but we’re happy to have you along for the ride. And we’ll keep sharing what we learn and figure out as we go!
